Dr. Ouellette’s medical career spans thirty-six years. Areas of expertise cover the treatment of wrist fracture, ligament tear, nerve injury, joint instability, and small joint replacement. In addition to English, she is fluent in Spanish. Prior to her current roles, Dr. Ouellette embraced the role of Director of Upper Extremity Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She maintains multiple research interests in areas such as biomechanics, wrist instability, nerve injury repair, psychological intervention for upper extremity trauma patients, and skin coverage, among others. An extensively published author in peer-reviewed medical journals, Dr. Ouellette is a frequently invited speaker at academic symposiums, both national and international. Elizabeth Anne Ouellette, MD, MBA, attended the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio in San Antonio, TX, and received her medical degree in 1978. Then, she served her general surgery internship at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA (1978-1979). Furthermore, she conducted her orthopedic surgery residency at the same educational venue (1979-1983). In addition, she completed her fellowship training in hand surgery at The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL (1983-1984). Dr. Ouellette received board certification in orthopedic surgery (1989) and hand surgery (1990) from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. She is a member of the Orthopedic Research Society, the American Orthopedic Association, the Orthopedic Trauma Association, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
